1. KEEP MUSIC IN SCHOOLS

Whenever they start talking about cutting education costs, the first thing on the chopping block is invariably the arts. MusiCounts is committed to making sure music remains on school curricula via donations of instruments, grants for developing programs in under-serviced communities and more. Support this essential org at a major MusiCounts Benefit Concert on Thursday (January 28), 7 pm, featuring performances by Lee Aaron, God Made Me Funky and others at the Phoenix, 410 Sherbourne. $25. musicounts.ca.
