Lee Aaron to play Sweden Rock Festival 2011

by StickBoy (webmaster) on May 17, 2011

For Immediate Release

Canada’s own ‘Queen of Rock,’ Lee Aaron is scheduled to play Sweden Rock Festival 2011. Lee and her band will take the stage on Saturday, June 11th. This will be Aaron’s first-ever appearance on Swedish soil, and she is the only Canadian act featured on the bill. It’s the biggest festival of its kind in Scandinavia and has grown in the last decade to a record attendance of 35,000. Aaron will share the spotlight with a number of legends, including Ozzy Osbourne, Joan Jett and Thin Lizzy.

Aaron makes her home in the Vancouver area with her husband and two children and performs a limited number of ‘live’ shows per year. She is currently working on a book of memoirs and a new album of original material.

Hi Lee; can’t wait to see you in Bathurst this summer. Last year a small tornado rolled through and ruined all the gear and the outdoor concert tent. Honeymoon Suite and The Headpins played in the civic centre the next night as a result. I grew up with your music and of course had a crush on you like many guys my age at the time. I’m 41 now and still love the older rock music. Keep doing what you love; not many ever get to. ;)

Sweden Rock TV on YouTube has your press conference up. Thanks for the honest info about how the music business went in the early nineties. Remembering the band I was in at the time in Wpg. I realize we didn’t have a clue. LOL.

Thanks for a great show and wonderful to meet you backstage, just before you left. Sadly my iPhone battery died so I couldn’t get a picture of us together and in the moment I forgot to ask you to sign my Powerline CD.
I have had your debut album on picturedisc up on my wall for almost 29 years now so it was almost like meeting someone I have known for a long time. But nevertheless I still got nervous.
I also stood at the very front at your press conference, which was fun.
Take Care and hope to see you again some time.
Cheers

Hi,
Just back home (in Japan) from Sweden… what a great concert. I especially liked the newer songs (imho the updated version of Metal Queen didn’t work that well). Anyway, Powerline (Rickard: that was the first song), Sweet Talk. etc. brought back lots of memories from concerts in the 80s.
For the signing session I consider myself especially lucky, as I was the second last to be allowed to enter before the festival staff closed the door.
Hope too see you in another concert some time in the not too far future,
Stefan

I also wondering about the setlist, the first song, what´s the name of it?
Many greetings

Hi Lee!

I saw your show at sweden rock and loved it!
When you got on stage i was jumping and screaming, and when i heard that you started playing powerline it took three seconds before i started crying of happiness, halfway in i got in shock and couldnt move, when you started playing metal queen i got back to jumping screaming and crying.

Then i got to the signing and got a blackout and couldnt remember what happened and on the evening i realized that i actually got to shake your hand, and now i cant stop watching my hand and consider it holy, and i cant stop talking about you, people are geting kind of annoyed at me… But i dont care!
It was the single most awesome experience of my life!
Hope you come back soon!!

Edit: My signed Lee Aaron shirt is the thing i now own that i value the most!!

YOU ROCK!!!!! <3

Dear Lee, it sure was great to see you at the SRF, we, your fans in Europe, have been waiting a long time, but as the saying goes, it you wait for something good……, you were great and loved the show, so please do not make us wait that long again.
You have been an inspiration for my band, and for that I thank you.
It has given me much to enrich my musical life and life in general.
So once again thank you.

Thanks for the great show at Sweden Rock Festival. It was like a little dream come to life. I hadn´t planned to go to Sweden Rock this year but when I saw that you were attending i buy a ticket right away!
A very good show that I will remember with joy in my heart. I even got a autograph from your signing.

Hi Magnus, I am soooo sorry about what happened today. I had a longer queue for autographs than any other act this weekend and the signing room staff were overwhelmed. They rushed everyone through and abruptly ended the session as they had another act waiting to get into the room. They kicked me out too! While I’m flattered by the fantastic response at Sweden Rock, I feel terrible about those who waited so long and did not get an autograph. You should let the organizers know so they might bring us back soon!! Maybe next year?? XOXO

Just got back to the hotel after watching the show. Thank you for a good show, and it was very nice to finally see you in Sweden. I had tickets to your planned concert with Uriah Heep in Sweden 1985 (I think it was) but that one was cancelled, so it has been a loooong wait… It was quite a long wait after today’s show waiting for your signing session as well. I think that there was around 200 people in the queue waiting for your autograph, and there were about ten of us left outside after 45 minutes of waiting when the guards decided to close the doors and end the session. I really hope that that decision was not yours – because that was a sh*tty way to treat the fans.
