Peace on Earth directed by Floria Sigismondi

March 20, 2010

There was a great article in the SUN today about THE RUNAWAYS film (in theatres today) directed by my old friend Floria Sigismondi. Her (video) directing debut was my PEACE ON EARTH video. I am totally excited to see THE RUNAWAYS film by Canadian photographer/director Floria Sigismondi. I was fortunate enough to work with this talented lady a few times in my career. Great to see another Canadian girl getting her due!

MOGUL MOMENTS IN THE GREAT WHITE NORTH

March 1, 2010

Yes, yes, I know it’s been awhile since my last blog. Isn’t it funny, how we always trick ourselves into thinking that parenthood will somehow get less busy in the future. Like some grandiose break in the clouds on an overcast day, where the sun suddenly reveals itself with blinding brilliance, and you wish you …

MONSTERS and CRITICS “Short and Sweet”

Questions: 1-Where are you right now? How’s the weather und what are you doing? I’m sitting in front of my computer and its one AM in the morning. It’s dark outside and cold. I am thinking about how much I miss sleep these days. 2-The funniest thing ever happened during a show? Once we were …

Sitting here at the computer tonight while Daisy the dog sleeps, sprawled at my feet. She’s getting huge. By the end of the day she is usually wiped out from being pushed and pulled, hugged and dog piled on, dressed up, teased and tortured by a 3 and 5 year old.

For months now, John and I have been going through reams and reams of old Lee Aaron footage, trying to piece together a new DVD anthology. It’s been a painful process, really – watching me, me and more bloody me…

I love the East Coast. I love the West Coast too (I live here…), but there is definitely an old world charm and hospitality about the East that doesn’t really exist in the West…

From Hard Rock Stardom to an Unlikely Surrender

April 2, 2009

Am I the only one who thinks this is insane and a bit … surreal? Is this the life we were aspiring to? An insular world where we are self-inflated gods and morality is as subjective as a Baskin-Robbins flavour. The ultimate rock and roll lifestyle. Something felt strangely wrong to me all of a sudden…

I slept in this morning. I don’t mean, like, for an extra hour. I mean like, for 20 extra minutes because I somehow set my alarm wrong. Just long enough to throw my day off a bit, so I threw on some clothes and rushed around frantically, trying to pull a few things together before the house woke up. This is what I now call my ME time. I know, it’s sad.

I’ve had many varied traveling experiences over the years. Some picturesque and magical, some gruesome, some boring, and some just pretty darn weird.

Today I joined the Doodlebops fan club. I’ve never joined a fan club before, so this is a first. For those of you who don’t know the Doodlebops, they are a toddler’s rock band consisting of Deedee Doodle (pink-keys), Rooney Doodle (blue-guitar), and Mo Doodle (yellow-drums). They whip kids into a sugar-high-like frenzy with their …
